22/04/2019	I led the route and clipped the rope into both carabiners (which were already in place) at the lower off. My partner seconded and after stripping all the quick draws to the top, noticed both carabiners were open. The spring mechanism in the gate had failed as they were old and weather worn. My partner clipped the rope back into a quick draw in the final bolt to ensure her safety and I lowered her down.
