Climbing Pinnacle Ridge in trainers. An easy route for the pair. Climbed on double ropes as normal. As the ground was easy didn't place much gear: a nut in a corner crack and a sling higher on the arete. The sling was only placed as it was getting in the way of climbing with it round my shoulders. A few metres on, I was pulling on a large flake and it gave way. I took a good fall, throwing the rock away from the belayer. I came to a rest, very near the ground, and saw that the rope attached to the sling had been severely damaged and only had a few core strands. The other rope had not been weighted, as the gear was not high enough.
