At saddle head I accidentally rappelled into the main cliff route, instead of the upper tier, where I was aiming. The climbs at the main cliff were all VS and above - a higher grade than either me or my partner felt comfortable leading. Fortunately for us, there were two climbers down there who were far more experienced than us and agreed to lead us up, one by one. It was a stupid mistake and could all too easily have been more serious, if the two climbers weren't down there and happy to lead us out. The tide was coming in and there was no way out without climbing. So it would have either been a very sketchy and uncomfortable VS, without really enough experience to lead it, or both me and my climbing buddy getting wet. Thanks to the two Andys who saved us!
