Incident
While crossing a postman’s walk the primary anchor on one of the cable ends failed. The whole block inc bolt came away leaving it hanging by the back up. The participant was able to continue with care.
Lessons
The redundancy built into the system worked well and probably prevented a fatality. Checking the condition of bolts and also the rock quality is important even on a popular and reasonably new route.
