Country

Area

Climbing Wall

Route

6b+ slab

Incident

While climbing a slab route on lead, climbers foot slipped and he fell. He was less than half a meter above the last clip therefore only fell 1-2meters. Went horizontal while falling, head to the right, feet to the left and smashed his head into a hold. I lowered him down straight away and as soon as climber reached the floor he could barely stand and it was obvious he had a serious head injury.

Lessons

None, it was just pure unlucky of what happened, nothing could have prevented it. Rushed straight to the hospital as climber couldn’t walk unassisted and remembered nothing from the past 4 hours. Was given the all clear from hospital so a close call.
