Incident

A small loose rock came down the crag, with no apparent contact to dislodge it. The rock struck a climber on the thigh. It caused no injury and she was able to continue climbing

Lessons

1) Check for loose rock in the guide book and by sight, and in on line forums if possible
2) Regardless of 1) be aware the falling rocks remain a hazard; climbers, belayers and others in the area should be prepared
3) put on your helmet before you get to the crag and take if off after you leave it by some margin
4) watch out for non climbers who may not be aware of hazards
