Whilst making an on-site lead attempt on the route some thin crimps broke off around mid point on the route - after which the decision was made to abandon the attempt and escape on to adjacent route
Lessons
Ensure an accurate assessment of the condition of chosen route is made before attempting to lead (in so far as is practical) and don’t be frightened to abort if conditions or circumstances change - may be worth also anyone planning to attempt this route at the top of their grade to top rope in case the grade has changed
