Incident
I was climbing above a ledge, had a draw clipped 2-2.5m above it and was climbing to the next bolt. The holds ran out at this next bolt and the place I'd expected to clip from was rubbish. Having surveyed the bolts from the ledge I didn't think I was in danger of actually hitting it as it didn't seem high enough up. However, I traversed a couple of moves further right trying to find a place to clip, got stuck and knew I would fall. At this point I realised I'd moved off line and therefore.more rope was out and tried to get back left before I fell. This was not a success though and I fell and hit the ledge with both heels, and then dropped over the end.
Lessons
Be aware that if traversing away from a bolt, more rope is out. I didn't appreciate how much more risky this was.
