Incident
Tying two ropes together to ab off route. In attempt to make it 'safe' left excessively long (1m) tails on the knots. When getting ready to ab down clipped into rope tails, not main length of rope - was long enough to look right. Fortunately noticed before headed down and swapped over to correct rope strands, in a more stressful situation could have missed it.
Lessons
Tails good on knots, to a degree. 30cm is plenty to be safe without risking causing confusion when setting up.
