Incident
On descent from the summit, at the bealach between objective hill & Creag a Loch, slipped on a patch of ice and landed on a (unknown at the time) broke my elbow. Wasn’t aware of serious injury till I was home that I’d done any damage. Day itself was pleasant, sunshine, only a dusting of snow on the summit with the odd patch of ice on the paths up, nothing that in the main couldn’t be avoided. Didn’t feel that crampons were necessary. I only took my eyes off the path for a second when the incident occurred. After a rest, thinking id only major bruising and swelling I disabled my arm, took some paracetamol and got myself off the mountain and back to my transport.
This report is more about being self sufficient and being able to sort yourself out than the incident itself.
Lessons
