Incident

Climber accidentally untied from the rock completely whilst attempting a rethread. I saw from the ground, was able to dash up to the top and supervise her rethreading properly. She had a cow’s tail, but had untied it and was just holding the chains. I first made her tie back in, and then complete the rethread.

Lessons

Skill fade is real. We have been away from climbing for a long time. Make sure you know what you are doing before trying something as consequential as a rethread.
