Incident

On Monday 8th December I was leading the final pitch of “Honeypot” IV/6 on the Mess o Pottage buttress in Coire an t-Sneachda (Scottish Highlands) when I took a fall. I inverted (backwards) and took a 10/15 meter fall. The back of my Petzl Sirocco helmet took the brunt of the impact. I suspect the fall was caused when I was attempting to untangle sprung leashes.
After returning to the hut in the evening I noticed significant damage to the rear of the helmet.

Lessons

Keep sprung leashes untangled at all times.
