Nutty Land

Typical March morning at Froggatt. Had done a couple of routes to warm up and decided to have a go on a slab route and chose Nutty Land. Cruised through the bottom section, placed a hex and a cam in the horizontal break and continued on. Slipped at the crux and fell back expecting the gear to hold. Rock chipped away on the gear causing both pieces to fail and I fell 7m to the ground landing partially on my belayer. I broke my spine in 3 places and my neck in one place. My spine required surgery and I now have 2 fixed titanium rods in my thoracic spine. Thankfully I made a full recovery and am back climbing again.
